This is a phone-based sales role for Medicare products. The clients are seniors navigating a decision that matters to their health and finances. The work requires patience, product knowledge, and the ability to explain complex options clearly.

Day-to-day responsibilities

  • Conduct phone consultations with Medicare-eligible individuals
  • Educate clients on available plans and coverage differences
  • Match clients with Medicare solutions that fit their health and budget needs
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships
  • Stay current on CMS guidelines and carrier plan updates
  • Manage your own pipeline and follow-up cadence

Who fits here

Medicare sales rewards people who are curious, patient, and genuinely invested in their clients. Here's what we look for.

What you need

  • Active Life & Health insurance license
  • AHIP certification (or willingness to get it — we'll support you)
  • Strong communication and consultative sales skills
  • Comfortable working independently in a commission-based environment
  • Self-directed with solid time management habits

Nice to have, not required

  • Prior Medicare sales experience (MA, Supplement, Part D)
  • Familiarity with CMS regulations and AEP timelines
  • Experience with CRM or insurance quoting platforms
  • Bilingual (Spanish-speaking agents always in demand)

Year One

While you're building your book and getting comfortable with the products, you have the ramp support and leads to hit the ground running. New agents who are consistent see meaningful commission checks within the first enrollment season.

Year Two & Beyond

Renewals start compounding. Every client you enrolled in year one is now generating renewal income on top of new enrollments. This is where Medicare sales separates itself — the residual model is genuinely powerful for agents who build and retain their book.

AEP & SEP Windows

Medicare has defined enrollment seasons. The Annual Enrollment Period (Oct 15 – Dec 7) is the highest-volume window, but Special Enrollment Periods create opportunities year-round. We stay active and support agents in all windows, not just AEP.

Individual earnings depend on activity, effort, and market conditions. Commission rates vary by carrier and product. Nothing here is a guarantee of specific income.
